Technicolor (News - Alert) recently announced that Cirpack has successfully deployed Technicolor's Session Border Controller (SBC) and softswitch to provide SIP interconnection between two network operators in Italy. Cirpack is a provider of local exchange and transit switches for telecom operators all over the world.

Technicolor is a specialist in the media and entertainment sector. In a statement, Juan Lopez, head of Cirpack, said that, "We are delighted to deliver our SIP Interconnection capabilities to the Italian market. We have supported similar efforts throughout Europe, including the French, German, and Italian markets, enabling our customers to offer new and innovative services to their end-users."

Cirpack was able to successfully deploy Technicolor’s SBC and softswitch for a regional operator's network, to enable SIP interconnection with an Italy-based telecommunications provider.
