Yaletown Launches New Home IP Networks

The growth and expansion of high-speed Internet has given a boost to a multi-service home network that provides a flexible and growing set of services.

In order to address compelling market opportunities in home telemetry, Yaletown Capital and its technology partners have developed a revolutionary new suite of Home IP Network Services. This multi-services home network is designed to meet the increasing demand for permanent Internet access from the home.

"The time has come to drop obsolete analogue phone lines as the primary method of communicating in our homes,” said Douglas Kind, Yaletown Capital’s president and CEO. “The home phone needs to adopt the Smartphone services model from this point forward.”

The company believes these integrated home IP services will provide more value to consumers at a lower cost.

"These services will change how people think about that old 10-digit dialed number, or the Web,” Kind added. “There’s no Web lookup as well as no need to choose Web or telephone as the home network comes with a mini Web portal that allows callers to select a specific individual with one touch when calling in.”

This suite of Home IP Network Services will be available for fewer prices compared to the typical home phone service for a North American. The subscribers of this service include four home phone lines that can be integrated with family wireless smartphones, and allow users to answer home phone lines from their smartphones like Android, iPhone (News - Alert) and other current smart devices.

This service will be showcased in October and will be available in Q1 2013. Yaletown Capital will explain the advantages of a home IP network as a logical replacement of the old systems.

The company is introducing low-cost home phones by mid-2013.

The Evolution of Session Border Control
Session Border Controllers have come a long way since they were first conceived in the early 2000s as a simple, security-focused element. As service providers and enterprises began deploying more advanced real-time applications over IP-including Unified Communications, video, instant messaging, and conferencing-the burden on SBCs grew in step.

The ABCs of PCI DSS + VoIP
As the boundaries between VoIP and IP-based data networks continue to blur, enterprises would be wise to apply the same levels of network security across all entrypoints. Session border controllers are designed to protect VoIP network borders from unauthorized entry, but not all SBCs are created equal in terms of security features and functionality.
