The Lantiq (News - Alert) DUSLIC-xT from Lantiq, with its advanced features and superior power efficiency, is an ideal solution for improving performance, reducing power consumption and decreasing system costs.
The DUSLIC-xT is created to address the important problems facing voice terminal system designers, including power consumption, power dissipation, system footprint and Bill-Of-Materials (BOM) expenses.
Recently, the company announced a new version of this product, which offers all necessary functions to implement voice telephony in broadband customer premise equipment (i.e., xDSL, fiber and cable gateways).
To validate lines that have no handset attached, DUSLIC-xT supports industry standard (GR-909) line test requirements and additional unique tests such as electronic ring detection.
To further improve system design and cost, system manufacturers can now cater to strict Code of Conduct requirements and use a smaller power supply, measured in both on- and off-hook conditions with lowest power consumption.
“Delivering high-quality voice telephony at a low system cost will remain a requirement for CPE vendors for many years,” said Johannes Eiblmeier, head of marketing of Lantiq's Access Networks Business Unit. “Driven by Next Generation Network deployments such as PON in China, voice circuits in broadband gateways will grow more than 10 percent year-over-year from the 100 million lines we saw in 2011. Lantiq's goal is to deliver best-in-industry performance and system cost advantage to enable our customers to differentiate their offerings.”
In 2011, the company expanded its family of single-chip solutions for advanced cordless home telephony to provide a broad and innovative product portfolio for next-generation networks and the digital home. To cordless handsets targeted at Asia-Pacific countries and emerging markets that use this unlicensed frequency range, the new COSIC WDCT, a 2.4 GHz version of the company's widely used DECT (News - Alert) solution, offers features such as wideband voice and low-rate data services.
