Sonus Networks (News - Alert) has launched its Consultant Liaison Program (CLP), a new initiative designed to provide communications network consultants with preferred access to Sonus product information, training and sales support.

The company’s CLP allows consultants to access the Sonus knowledgebase, providing the information they need quickly -- whether it's ROI analysis, RFI (News - Alert)/RFP completion or technical expertise, according to Todd A. Abbott, senior vice president for global sales, marketing and business development at Sonus.

Using Sonus CLP, the consulting community can get the answers that they need to help their enterprise and service provider customers make informed decisions as they build session initiation protocol (SIP)-based solutions.

In addition to free training and education, timely solution updates, sales and marketing support, Sonus CLP services also feature access to exclusive events and a dedicated Sonus CLP account manager.

The Sonus CLP is expected to include information on Sonus' complete product portfolio, including the session border controller (SBC) family of products -- Sonus SBC 5100, Sonus SBC 5200 and Sonus SBC 9000 -- Centralized Policy Server, Sonus VoIP trunking solutions such as GSX (News - Alert), PSX, SGX.

Company officials said that the CLP will also include information on hosted voice solutions (ASX) and network performance suite of applications -- NetAssure, NetEng, NetScore.

Sonus helps communications service providers and enterprises embrace the next generation of SIP-based solutions including VoIP, video and unified communications through secure, reliable and scalable IP networks.

“This latest launch is a critical step for Sonus to better serve the enterprise and service provider market by proactively enabling those consultants who help define and design the world's communications solutions,” Abbott said.

Recently, the company completed the acquisition of Network Equipment Technologies (News - Alert). With this acquisition, Sonus' position in cloud-based unified communications is greatly enhanced as it expands the company's portfolio of Session Border Controller (SBC) solutions for enterprise customers, among other benefits.
